Alta Badia - First points

22.12.2013

"I hope that the weather stays cold and the conditions stay good until bib 54, everything else is up to me". Those were my thoughts this morning as i looked out the window. As i had hoped, the course held up trought my start so i skied well and moved up to 22nd place. With bib 54, i had the heighest bib number in the final run. It was not to difficult to focus in the second run since I was full of adrenaline. Most people expecetd me to ski conservatively, but that thought did not even cross my mind. I wanted to ski better that i did in my first run. I made a mistake in the middle of the second run, but it did not distract me, it just made me angry because I lost a lot of time. When I crossed the finish line, I was not sure whether to be happy or upset. Despite my mistake, I manage to score my first 8 points in World Cup on one of the most diffucult courses in World Cup on Grad Risa in Alta Badia. I can say now that the ice is broken and hopefully my results will just continue to improve. I know I still have a lot of work to do in order to achieve my dreams and fight for the top spot on the podium. I am really happy that I proved to myself that i can ski with the best skiers in the world, which gives me even more motivation for the future.

Marry Christmas and Happy New Year 2014!
